Cloud systems have firmly established themselves in regulated industries \u2014 from specialized document or customer management applications to full-scale ERP systems like SAP. The advantages are clear: high scalability, flexible usage, reduced investment costs, and faster access to innovation. At the same time, companies face the challenge of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as data integrity, availability, and traceability \u2014 even within outsourced infrastructures. The use of cloud solutions thus raises not only technical but also procedural and strategic questions.<\/p>

Particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, where IT systems are directly linked to product safety, the highest validation standards apply. While there are often established validation procedures for traditional on-premise systems, cloud environments require new approaches. Who holds which responsibility \u2014 the provider or the customer? How can a system be qualified if it is continuously updated by the vendor? And how does this align with GAMP 5 or the expectations of auditors?<\/p>
